Value to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District and the American taxpayer:
The proposed project would assist by 1) developing a strategy for economic growth of Michigan's bio-industry; 2) assessing the state bio-industry's assets, talent, capabilities, and unmet needs; 3) aid economic development efforts with information useful for promotion, recruitment and site selection. Currently, Michigan has no clear path for advancing the state's bioscience economy, mostly because of the unavailability of data that could identify areas for opportunity.
