Value to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District and the American taxpayer:
Wayne County Criminal Investigatory enhancement capabilities through manpower and technology: Pretrial criminal investigations are just as important as the investigations leading to obtaining a warrant. They begin in some cases prior to the preliminary examination and continue up to and including trial. In 2006, there were approximately 1300 trials in Wayne County. The Bureau is woefully short of personnel, as there are only eight Detectives for one hundred and seventy prosecutors.
