| The purpose of this funding is to expand the functionality of a software tool the Army is currently using to manage troop rotations in and out of combat theaters and to visualize numerous future scenarios and the resources that would be needed (soldiers, equipment, training and materials) to execute those missions. This gives the Army better information about to effectively plan and manage these moves, and provides families of soldiers more certainty about planned upcoming deployments and rest periods. Additional funding can add a wider range of input detail to make scenarios even closer to reality, and save the Army additional time and money by reducing the number of staff needed to execute these tasks. |
