Value to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District and the American taxpayer:
In 2007, ACCESS provided a variety of medical care services to a total of 7,778 community members. Given the 18% prevalence rate of diabetes, we conservatively anticipate that 1,400 diabetic patients will be served via the proposed Clinic on an annual basis. Through increased funding, ACCESS will be able to not only to increase the patients it treats by at least 25%, but will be able to provide more effective, standardized treatment for diabetes that will improve overall outcomes.
