Food safety is a major issue in the U.S. and falls under the mandate of the FDA. This project will provide a cost effective process which will allow for shell eggs in the U.S. to be pasteurized, effectively eradicating food borne illness such as Salmonella and Avian Flu and ensuring public safety in the food supply. Additional work in other foods such as raw oysters will further expand the use of this technology into applications where to date, no solutions have been provided.
