Value to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District and the American taxpayer:
The University acquired a vacant building in 1998 and completed significant interior renovation to convert it into a classroom and community-use facility. The HVAC windows, roofing insulation, and other energy related systems were not upgraded and have operated at inefficient levels. Federal funds will be spent on renovation of the building and the acquisition and installation of alternative energy and energy efficient equipment and materials.
