Value to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District and the American taxpayer:
This project includes retrofitting two overpass bridges to install non-motorized / pedestrian facilities. The bridges are over I-94 and US-23 on Ellsworth Road in Pittsfield Township between Platt Road and Carpenter Road. Retrofitting the two bridges to include non-motorized facilities will provide a connection along a vital transportation corridor. This will allow residents in the densely populated eastern portion of the Township and neighboring communities non-motorized access to the majority of the Township’s green, open and park spaces, as well as the business sectors on the west side of the Township thereby enhancing and ensuring a higher quality of life for residents of the Township and the greater area.
