Value to Michigan’s 15th Congressional District and the American taxpayer:
This project includes the construction of the 10 foot wide non-motorized portion of the planned State Road widening project. This improvement is necessary to provide mass transit to the corridor. The project area is along State Road between Ellsworth Road and Michigan Avenue. This corridor provides a north/south transportation route through the center of the Township and Ann Arbor. The land uses promoted and developed along this corridor have been Research and Development, and general Business Park uses that have provided hundreds of jobs to Ann Arbor area residents. Providing alternate transportation options including mass transit and non-motorized access to this corridor is critical to the economic development of the Township and the greater Ann Arbor area.
