"Respect and love for Betty Ford crossed party lines. She was a uniquely strong woman who has left a lasting legacy in terms of how we deal with personal struggles and health issues. Her work and honest advocacy helped many people. She will be missed and cherished not only for the lovely lady she was, but also for the inspiration she provided. She will never be forgotten, and my thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time."
