Washington, DC – Today, the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC) honored Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) with its “Champion of Healthcare Innovation” award. The Congressman, who is the author of the House health reform bill, was selected for his ongoing support of patient-centered medical progress.

Many of its members employ Michigan workers who have taken part in aggressive efforts to create new, affordable products for Americans, all designed to keep our people healthier,” Dingell said. “These companies are driven by customer service and their efforts to make healthcare more accessible to all Americans are consistent with the ideas behind the new health care reform law.”
The HLC is a coalition of chief executives of the nation’s leading healthcare companies and organizations – including pharmaceutical manufacturers, hospitals, insurance companies and drug store chains.
