Monroe, MI – In a roundtable discussion between business and community leaders this morning, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) brainstormed with a group of Monroe-based executives and the city’s Mayor, Bob Clark, on how to improve the area economy. The Congressman discussed recent legislation passed by Congress, including bills in the “Make It In America” agenda and how they can help local companies in the near future. The event also provided an opportunity for these business leaders to network and make useful connections.
“The men and women I spoke with today are keeping Monroe running even in the most challenging economic conditions,” Dingell said. “Our local businesses have had to run uphill against nearly unbearable economic challenges. As we emerge from this recession, we must make sure our small businesses have the tools and resources to rebuild and grow. The ‘Make It In America’ agenda will help us create an environment where our companies can do more than just survive, they can thrive!”
