Dingell Meets With Innovative Ann Arbor Company

Dearborn, MI
- Today, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) discussed jobs and growth opportunities with employees at Ann-Arbor-based HealthMedia, Inc., part of the Wellness & Prevention business unit of Johnson & Johnson.  Congressman Dingell had a chance to hear from HealthMedia and Wellness & Prevention leaders about the innovative solutions they provide to employers and health plans and how they hope to benefit from the passage of the recent Healthcare Reform Law.

“Today’s meeting gave me a chance to hear about the exciting things going on at HealthMedia and to better understand how business and government can best partner to address chronic illness and rising health care costs, while creating opportunities for 15th district residents,” said Congressman Dingell. “HealthMedia is particularly exciting because their digital health coaching solutions have been proven to improve individual health while bringing down health care costs for employers and health plans.”

After using their services for several years, Johnson & Johnson acquired HealthMedia in the fall of 2008 as part of their Wellness & Prevention business. HealthMedia digital health coaching solutions combine advanced technology and behavioral science to emulate a live health coaching session, and each program is personalized to meet the unique needs of each individual based on interactive feedback.

“Meeting with Congressman Dingell today was a great opportunity because it gave us a chance to demonstrate the unique way in which we can help organizations improve the health and productivity of the individuals they serve,”  said Calvin Schmidt, President of Wellness & Prevention, Inc.
