Washington, DC - Congressman John Dingell (D-MI-15) today applauded the decision by the Obama Administration to expand its scientific review of the potential health effects of the chemical bisphenol-A (BPA). Dingell is the author of H.R. 2749, the Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 and numerous other pieces of consumer protection legislation.

The American people are best served when we allow sound science to guide our decision-making. The safety of BPA has aroused the emotions of all those involved. And this has unfortunately left the American people uneasy. I urge a thorough, fair analysis and look forward to reviewing the results.”
