More than 75 Job Seekers Come to Dingell’s “How to Get Hired in 2010“ Event

Monroe, MI - To help Southeast Michigan residents eager to find or change jobs, today Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) assembled a panel of experts to share tips on best practices in today’s difficult job market.  The panel of Human Resources managers spoke to 75 job seekers during the Congressman’s “How to Get Hired in 2010” event.

“We’ve got to do everything we can to create job opportunities for our working men and women,” the Congressman said.  “Events like this give folks the chance to network, share information and focus their searches on real leads.  The experts who come provide a great service and they should be thanked for being so gracious with their time.”

The special guests came from local companies including Monroe Bank and Trust, La-Z-Boy, City of Monroe, and DTE.  This is the second of five events the Congressman has hosted during the current district work period to offer direct assistance to constituents.

The Congressman hosted a similar event in Washtenaw County earlier this year and will host a Job Seekers Boot Camp in Wayne County on April 8.  He has also compiled and distributed the “Displaced Workers Guidebook” which provides helpful information for unemployed Michigan residents during this difficult transformation period.
