Washington, DC - Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) praised General Motors’ (GM) announcement today that it earned $1.7 billion before interest and taxes during the first quarter of 2010.
“GM’s announcement today is more incontrovertible proof that GM is on the right path toward revitalizing itself,” said Dingell. “GM’s announcement shows American workers and the company are building the products that consumers desire. Moreover, GM’s first quarter earnings, in combination with the company’s announcement last month that it had repaid its outstanding loans to the U.S. and Canadian governments, are a clear sign that the company is making productive use of taxpayers’ wise investment in its future.”
