New Investment for Runway Rehabilitation at Detroit Metro Airport

Washington, DC - New federal investment will help Detroit Metropolitan Airport make major improvements to 550 feet of runway 9L/27R.  The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) promised a $1.8 million dollar grant to the Wayne County Airport Authority, Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) announced today.

“Investment in Metro Airport comes back to all of us in many ways,” Dingell said.  “It makes travel in and out of Metro safer, and more importantly, it makes travel to and from Detroit more appealing to businesses.  I appreciate the careful consideration by the FAA and the hard work of the Airport Authority for all the work they do make air travel into Detroit as safe as it can be.”
